In this trailer for the upcoming film, Trumbo, Bryan Cranston stars as Dalton Trumbo (Spartacus, Exodus), a blacklisted screenwriter and novelist during the Red Scare of the 1940s who wouldn’t give up without a fight. He was one of the Hollywood Ten who refused to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947 during the committee’s investigation into Communist influences in the entertainment industry. Though blacklisted he still won two Oscars. The biopic also stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Louis C.K., David James Elliott, Elle Fanning, John Goodman, Diane Lane, Alan Tudyk, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Helen Mirren, and directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers).

The successful career of 1940s screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) comes to a crushing end when he and other Hollywood figures are blacklisted for their political beliefs. TRUMBO (directed by Jay Roach) tells the story of his fight against the U.S. government and studio bosses in a war over words and freedom, which entangled everyone in Hollywood from Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) and John Wayne to Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.
