I’ve been Booned … and I liked it! You’re Welcome America!!!
This movie brought me back to my childhood, an-80s-esque action flick full of funny one-liners. Living in LA, this film hits home. The premise is simple, a reality-show bounty hunter chases after D-List actors – whether they need to be chased or not – who have unpaid parking tickets. Using a combination of parkour and martial arts, these celebrities “get Booned”!
With the threat of cancellation, Boone decides that he needs to boost ratings by taking down a “real” bad guy. He finds this in Ryan, the spoiled son of a drug lord. And much like a true LA story, this spoiled-rotten rich kid is played by none-other-than Jonathan Lipnicki … the cute little boy who played Renee Zellweger’s son in Jerry Maguire. It’s amazing what 19-years can do to a kid!
Boone enlists the help of his series co-stars, Denny (Osric Chau) and Kat (Spencer Grammer), and they end up in Mexico fighting a real drug cartel headed by Ryan’s father Cole (Richard Tyson) and his lovely assistant Tess (Jane Park Smith). Things go from bad to worse as Boone’s attempts to fight the Cartel and Denny and Kat end up in jail. When Cole kidnaps young Miguelito (Max Weideman) for helping Boone, he somehow gets the entire town, led by a bar owner named Walker (Lorenzo Lamas), to help him bring down the Cartel. This, of course, leads to more awesome fight scenes!
Overall, this was an action-packed movie with great one-liners and just a lot of fun! Some great cameo’s as well. John Hennigan does most all of his stunts and I loved watching him parkour through the city to catch Kevin Sorbo! As Boone would say “You’ve been Booned! You’re welcome America!”
Waiting for next movie of john hennigan
