Bob Bergen is a living legend in the world of voice over and animation. He has voiced numerous characters from Masaru in the English dub of Akira to Luke Skywalker in various Star Wars properties, but the character that set Bergen off on his journey into the arts and especially voice acting was that of the world’s most famous stutterer created by Warner Bros. Animation in one Porky Pig.
Bergen, who has voice Porky for well over 30 years, following the passing of Mel Blanc, who Bergen was able to sneak on to the Warner Bros. lot and meet the legendary voice actor. Bergen has stepped behind the mic once again to continue on as the voice of Porky Pig in the new Looney Tunes Cartoons that begin streaming on HBO Max, Wednesday, May 27, 2020.
We caught up with Bob Bergen about returning to Porky, this time with the use of a home studio, due to the global pandemic, the drive to succeed and how a the dream of a 6-year-old child has turned into a career filled with voicing his favorite character.
