Blackest of the Black, the ultimate Black Metal music festival rocked Orange County for two days this past weekend with some of the heaviest bands ever to step on the stage. To add to the controlled mayhem, Danzig brought fourth the ultimate freak show experience as well as released his new album that played during the after party and late night horror movie screening.

As exciting as it was to see Danzig, Ministry and Suicidal Tendancies, the two bands that stole the show were Butcher Babies and VAMPS. The VAMPS were so impressive that several fans flew out from Japan just to enjoy their set. What was unexpected was that the Japanese fans don’t just mosh, they create dance routines for every song.
As for Butcher Babies, who were named after the Wendy O’Williams’ song of the same name, are two petite bad asses with giant voices that outshined some of the bigger names on the bill. If you ever get a chance to see either of these two bands live, DO IT!
