The second largest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotion in the United States and currently airing on CBS Sports Network makes a large announcement as of press time.
Current Bellator President and Taekwondoin, Scott Coker, founder of Strikeforce and former promoter of K-1 Kickboxing and one of the first directors of International Sporks Karate Association (ISKA), make the big announcement today.
The last time Bellator made a surprise announcement we were given Bellator Kickboxing, which was part of their huge Dynamite card in San Jose, CA. The Bellator Kickboxing events have mostly taken place in Europe within the last few years.
One can only speculate what today’s Bellator announcement will bring, but I had joked that shortly after Bellator Kickboxing was announced that they would created Bellator Boxing as its own entity.
For those wondering, the word Bellator comes from the Latin, Bellatoris, meaning warrior or soldier, fitting for an MMA fighter.
