And with a snap, ten years of Marvel Studios productions was changed forever. Avengers: Infinity War was the biggest film of 2018, a superhero epic that dominated the pop culture landscape since the end of last April.Ever since, the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin)snapped his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet, it has taken over the internet with countless memes and endless speculation about the next chapter in Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all of that speculation, today brings us the highly anticipated trailer and title for the fourth Avengers film – Avengers: End Game.
The first glimpse of Endgame presents us a world where all hope is lost. Tony Stark (Robert Downey,Jr.) is adrift in space and running out of food and oxygen. On Earth,Captain America (Chris Evans) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) attemptto make sense of that fateful moment when half of life on Earth turned to dust.Thor (Chris Hemsworth) sulks indefeat. Meanwhile, Thanos (Josh Brolin)has taken to rest. The Mad Titan’s golden armor serves as a scarecrow in his rural retreat, recreating an iconic image from the original Infinity Gauntlet comics. While all seems lost, hope arrives at Avengers Headquarters in the unexpected form of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), aka Ant-Man, who was lost within the Quantum Realm during the post credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp over the summer.
It’s pointless to speculate over the little details in this first trailer as it’s light on plot details and Marvel has a history of misdirection in recent trailers. (Remember the Hulk in Wakanda in the Infinity War trailer?) All those lingering questions will have to linger a little longer until April 26, 2019 when Marvel Studios unveils Avengers: Endgame.
