Nothing has been more shocking to me than the massive box office success of Jurassic World. Never in a million years did I think that film would even come close to rivaling the haul that Avengers: Age of Ultron would pull in, let alone entirely eclipse it. Even if the billion-plus box office haul for Age of Ultron seems like a mild disappointment to executives at the Mouse House, the film itself is actually a remarkable work of blockbuster filmmaking. Yes, I know I was fairly critical of the film upon my initial viewing, but a recent rewatch confirmed that there’s a lot great things happening in Joss Whedon‘s overstuffed sequel.
Now we finally have details as to the Blu-Ray/DVD for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Sadly, this edition doesn’t feature the rumored three-hour cut. I sincerely doubt we’ll ever see that extended cut, much like the rumored four-hour cut of The Wolf of Wall Street. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll see those extended cuts someday, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will be available as a Digital HD download on September 8th, 2015, nearly a whole month before the Blu-Ray hits shelves on October 2nd, 2015. The special features for Age of Ultron look like fairly standard fare — gag reel, deleted scenes, audio commentary, etc. A full list of special features are down below.
