In March 1981, John Hinckley, driven by a dangerous obsession with the film ‘Taxi Driver‘ and actress Jodie Foster, attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan. This shocking act not only stunned the world but also significantly altered American history. Hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity and spent thirty-five years in a psychiatric hospital. Nearly forty years later, he was granted unconditional release by a judge, prompting intense debate about justice, mental illness, and redemption.
