It certainly seems that the Mickey Rourke‘s comeback following The Wrestler is a distant memory with a number of forgettable roles following his Oscar-nominated role in 2008. But that’s not to say that Rourke is done, and here’s hoping that his role in Ashby, where the veteran actor plays a retired CIA hitman, is a return to gruff form. Rourke stars opposite Nat Wolff as a high school outcast who befriends the retired assassin. Written and directed by Tony McNamara, Ashby features a supporting cast headlined by Emma Roberts and Sarah Silverman. With an interesting premise and impressive cast, all the ducks are in a row for Ashby to be a sleeper hit. May its aim be true.
Ashby opens in theaters and VOD on September 25th, 2015.
