I’ve got to admit, I’ve had my doubts about Ash vs. Evil Dead, the new series on Starz that looks to revive Sam Raimi‘s cult classic trilogy. But this trailer is so lively and fun, that all those doubts have left my mind quicker than an evil spirit ethereally roaming the woods. This doesn’t look like a cash-in, it looks like a continuation. In this era where everything from the past is being remade, it looks like Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi are very concerned with moving the action forward instead of vainly attempting to recreate the past. But I’m ready get my chainsaw oiled-up and fueled, with my shotgun holstered and loaded, because I’ can’t wait to watch Ash get back to fighting some damned deadites. This trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead has got gore, alright, but it’s also something else. Hmmm…what’s the word for it? Oh yeah — groovy.
