With each little piece of marketing that comes out for Ash vs. Evil Dead, that amazing feeling becomes more and more real — we’re actually getting an Evil Dead TV show. Think about that for a moment. It’s pretty damn…groovy. (I couldn’t resist.) The latest video released by Starz in anticiaption of Ash vs. Evil Dead‘s premiere on Halloween takes us behind the blood-soaked scenes, featuring interviews with Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo, as well as others. As everything else we’ve already seen from the show, this little featurette highlights just how well it appears that Sam Raimi and company have been able to recreate that unique feel of the original trilogy, that manic blend of horror and humor. You’ve got a couple months to get your chainsaw fueled up and your shotgun loaded because Ash vs. Evil Dead is coming this Halloween at 9pm only on Starz.
The official synopsis for Ash vs. Evil Dead:
“Ash vs Evil Dead,” a 10-episode half-hour series, is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead. The series is executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, the original filmmakers of the franchise, and Craig DiGregorio who serves as executive producer and showrunner. Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
