Artista Cigars announced today that it will be redesigning the packaging for two of its existing lines, Puro Ambar and Cimarron. The new packaging will be on display at Intertobac 2024, in Dortmund, Germany, with shipping scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025. This redesign is part of a broader rebranding effort that began in 2022 and includes both a name change and a reduction in stock-keeping units (SKUs).

Under the new branding, Puro Ambar will now be known as Artista Puro Ambar, while Cimarron will be rebranded as Artista Cimarron. According to Kevin Newman, Vice President of Artista Cigars, this initiative aims to integrate these older lines more clearly into the Artista portfolio. “This is a logical step for our older marks that previously existed as stand-alone brands,” he stated. “Now, retailers and consumers can easily recognize these brands as part of the Artista family.”
The redesigned packaging showcases a distinct Artista style, featuring angular lines and vibrant colors to denote different blends. The Artista logo will be prominently displayed on both the band and the box, ensuring that Artista Cimarron and Artista Puro Ambar are visually separated from the more premium Artista Series.
Importantly, the cigar blends and sizes will remain unchanged. Artista will continue to offer Cimarron in its original sizes—Robusto (5×54), Toro (6×50), and Doble Toro (6×60)—and Puro Ambar will maintain its three sizes—Corona (5.5×42), Robusto (5×50), and Toro (6×54). Both lines will be sold in 20-count boxes.
In addition to the packaging updates, Artista plans to streamline the Cimarron line by reducing the SKUs from nine to three. Previously available in three wrappers—San Andres Maduro, Honduran Connecticut, and Ecuadorian Habano—the latter two will be discontinued, allowing Artista to focus on the San Andres Maduro option moving forward.
These changes reflect Artista Cigars’ commitment to evolving its brand while maintaining the quality and essence of its offerings.
