Since leaving office as the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s return to the big screen has been rather rocky. The Last Stand didn’t capture the attention of audiences, neither did Escape Plan or Sabotage. Now, the aging muscle-bound Austrian is back and venturing into unknown territory in Maggie, which sees Arnold concerned about his infected daughter, played by Abigail Breslin, who has contracted the illness that leads to the reanimation of the dead.
The film is coming at time when we’re practically inundated with zombies on every possible screen. However, it does look like Maggie is trying to do something different within the zombie genre. At least I’m hoping it does something different. Maggie marks the directorial by Henry Hobson and opens in limited release on May 8th, 2015.
