There is a herculean task before Ant-Man. It must satisfy the public’s ongoing lust for Marvel films for nearly a year until Captain America: Civil War opens next May. Even though the film will always have the shocking departure of Edgar Wright as part of its legacy, director Peyton Reed, star Paul Rudd, and co-writer Adam McKay have tried their best to craft Ant-Man as a truly comedic superhero film — don’t forget that trio has some serious comedy chops. The latest posters for Ant-Man definitely play up the film’s involvement in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe while also highlighting the film’s playful nature. Personally, I really like these posters.
Along with the posters, there’s a new TV spot for Ant-Man. At first seemingly dour, the spot quickly showcases that humor that seems to be at the heart of Ant-Man. We can all size-up where Ant-Man stands in the larger world of Marvel on July 17th, 2015.
