It was commonly thought that Guardians of the Galaxy would be Marvel’s first test in adapting a relatively unknown property into box office gold and they succeeded with flying colors. Now comes their real test – Ant-Man. Already embroiled in controversy and skepticism following the departure of director Edgar Wright, Ant-Man is the real gamble at play here. I must admit, my interest in an Ant-Man movie was tied solely to Wright’s attachment. Whether or not Peyton Reed will be able to shepherd the film in a satisfactory direction remains to be seen, but the trailer does show hints of promise. Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd and Micheal Douglas and will kick off Marvel’s Phase Three on July 17th, 2015.
