Writer-director Andrea Arnold‘s American Honey was one of the most acclaimed films to come out of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, taking home the Jury Prize at the festival. The film which stars Sasha Lane, Shia LaBeouf, and Riley Keough doesn’t even have an American release date yet (though it’s safe to assume that it will open in the midst of awards season), but that doesn’t mean it can’t get a brand new trailer that employs the music of The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, to amplify the feeling of Americana that is supposedly running through the veins of the entire movie.
Frankly, I have little idea of what to expect from American Honey with the lone exception of Shia LaBeouf’s ridiculous haircut. Early word on American Honey has been quite enthusiastic with a few vocal detractors here and there, so, of course, I’m just going to have to find out for myself whenever American Honey does hit theaters.
With little else to add, enjoy the trailer for Andrea Arnold’s American Honey with some of the sounds of Bruce Springsteen.
The official synopsis for American Honey:
Overflowing with electric, primal energy, AMERICAN HONEY is an immersive, exhilarating odyssey of heartbreaking beauty—a generation-defining movie that celebrates the defiant resilience of young people looking for a place they belong, chasing their own version of the American Dream.
