Variety is reporting today that Stephen Amell, star of the wildly popular Arrow, has signed on to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 as Casey Jones. Megan Fox and Will Arnett are the only other actors firmly attached to the sequel which will be directed by Earth to Echo director Dave Green. Of course, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will still be produced by Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes production company, so don’t expect a major change of course from the first film. The writing team of Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec are returning to pen the sequel. The film is slated for a 2016 release, though there’s no confirmation on an exact date.
