Up and coming actress Ali Fumiko Whitney, Talks About ‘The Road Dance‘ and the Newport Beach Film Festival for Sunday’s screening at The Triangle on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 2 p.m.
‘The Road Dance‘ is Whitney’s first full length feature film and was shot at the height of Covid in Scotland. The film heads to the Newport Beach Film Festival after its world premiere in Edinburgh.
Whitney plays Annie Macleod, the younger, almost sheepish sister to Hermione Corfield’s Kristy just prior to the outbreak of World War I in the Scottish Highlands.
We spoke with Whitney about her budding career, the chance to attend Newport Beach Film Festival as one of the co-stars of a film rather than just a patron and being one of three actresses in the family. Her sister Rachel and mother are the other two in the household.
Currently residing in New York, Whitney loves returning to Southern California to not only visit family, but find time to enjoy the weather out on the West Coast.
She recently wrapped the feature film, ‘Snow Valley’ with her sister, where she has a large supporting role, and the romantic comedy ‘The Islander’ with crooner Harry Connick Jr.
With just three films under her belt, Whitney is a rising star to keep our eyes on as her career progresses.
