Action star Scott Adkins is a cult phenom for his fist and feet of fury which are unleashed in a number of a movies in any given year. The latest action flick for Adkins is the sci-fi thriller Abduction from director Ernie Barbarash and executive producer Roger Corman. Shout! Studios, the film distribution label from Shout! Factory, has unleashed the first trailer for Abduction ahead of its release in select theaters and VOD platforms on June 7, 2019.
Adkins stars as Quinn, a SWAT team member, awakens with little memory of his past. In this dazed state, he stumbles upon a mysterious and nefarious plot that could threaten all of humanity. Quinn will team with Connor (Andy On), a former elite military soldier turned mercenary, and the mismatched duo must kick ass and take name to reveal the horrors of these elusive villains.
As you can tell from this trailer, the plot isn’t really the selling point for Ernie Barbarash’s film. This is very much all about the action. The glimpses we get in this action-packed trailer suggest that we’ll be treated to frenzied fighting, but not so frenzied that the speed and choreography of the action will be visually incomprehensible.
Science fiction and martial arts collide with a bang when Shout! Studios releases Abduction on June 7, 2019.
The official synopsis for Abduction:
Quinn (Scott Adkins), a member of a SWAT unit, steps out of a park fountain in an Asian city with no recollection of who he is or where he came from. As he pieces together clues from his past, he vaguely recalls his young daughter, who has been kidnapped. Meanwhile, Connor (Andy On), a former military operative turned gangster-for-hire, discovers that his wife has also disappeared mysteriously in the middle of the night. These two men, with little in common, realize they must work together to find their loved ones and thwart their mysterious abductors.
