Last year was a rough year at the cinema. The incomparable Tilda Swinton only appeared in one movie, a memorable supporting role in Trainwreck. But early in 2016 and we’ve already gotten a glimpse of Tilda in dual roles in Hail, Caesar! and now we can look forward to the wonderful actress playing a rock star in A Bigger Splash. Of course, Tilda Swinton is able to step into any role but she is a natural rock star so this role probably isn’t too much of a stretch.
A Bigger Splash sees Tilda’s rock star in the middle of a love triangle between her former producer, played by Ralph Fiennes, and her current flame, played by Matthias Schoenaerts. Things get even more complicated when Tilda’s daughter, played by Dakota Johnson, appears alongside her former lover. Director Luca Guadagnino‘s film has an impressive cast and the trailer looks like this film will feature exotic locales and a twisted romance. A Bigger Splash also has Tilda Swinton as a rock star, and that’s all that anyone should need to be sold on this film.
A Bigger Splash opens in New York and Los Angeles on May 4th, 2016 and expands to select theaters nationwide on May 13th, 2016.

In A BIGGER SPLASH, rock legend Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton) is recuperating on the volcanic island of Pantelleria with her partner Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts) when iconoclast record producer and old flame Harry (Ralph Fiennes) unexpectedly arrives with his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson) and interrupts their holiday, bringing with him an A-bomb blast of nostalgia from which there can be no rescue. A BIGGER SPLASH is a sensuous portrait of desire, jealousy and rock and roll, under the Mediterranean sun.
