It was the documentary that took an obscure sport and turned them into legends, launching major acting careers, a slew of endorsement deals and creating a culture that still permeates throughout American society. Names like Arnold Scwarzenegger, Lou Ferrigno and Franco Columbu have become gym culture’s knights of the round table.
Pumping Iron, the 1977 documentary that started this entire craze is officially coming to Digital HD.
“The only two left are Arnold (Scwarzenegger) and myself from that era. I think Columbu is now a chiropractor,” said the now 63-year-old Ferrigno about the titans of bodybuilding.
From posing as art in the Metropolitan Museum in Manhattan to the Mr. Olympia competition, you get incite into the life, the dedication, determination and internal struggles (as Ferrigno’s father seemed to be a key factor in his loss), Pumping Iron still is the visual Bible of the bodybuilding world.
To relive launching point bodybuilding society, Pumping Iron is the the definitive documentary, with bonus and never before seen clips, you will be sure to make any gym rat happy this holiday season as they make sure their flexing is perfect like the masters while taking a break in between sets.
Pumping Iron Digital HD is now available on Vudu.
