20th Century Fox is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and for their anniversary the studio is releasing 100 films on Digital HD, many for the first time ever. A number of cinematic classics will soon be available, including films like F.W. Murnau‘s Sunrise, John Ford‘s My Darling Clementine, Fritz Lang‘s Man Hunt, and numerous other films from the studio’s vaults of classics. This is a big deal in terms of film preservation, as 20th Century Fox is ensuring that a number of films won’t become victims of deterioration and neglect. About a month ago, I was fortunate to see the latest restoration of My Darling Clementine on the Fox Lot, and it was a gorgeous transfer of a wonderful movie, a classic film given the restoration it deserves.

Starting today, Sunrise, Man HuntDrums Along the MohawkHow to Marry a Millionaireand The Flight of the Phoenix will be available on Digital HD with the other titles slowly being rolled out throughout the rest of the year.
