WWE Superstar Randy Orton portrays Nick Malloy an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) who finds himself caught in a deadly 12-round game of cat and mouse game with a deadly vigilante named Heller played by Brian Markinson, who is tied to the paramedic’s past. With little time to spare and his wife’s (Cindy Busby) life hanging in the balance, Malloy must figure out why he’s been chosen to be apart of this maniac’s game.
This fast paced thriller shines the spotlight on Orton for the first time outside the squared-circle. Orton’s performance is worth his weight in championship gold as the Legend Killer discovers that Heller’s vendetta involves the loss of his wife at the hand’s of the governor’s son Tommy played by Tom Sevens, who was responsible for her death in a drunk driving accident, which should have resulted in a manslaughter charge, but instead resulted in time served and six months in rehab.
If you want something to get your adrenaline pumping and throwback to the 1980s action era, then 12 Rounds 2: Reloaded is a must watch. Think Cobra meets Escape from New York. Markison is the fantastic villain, and although you want to empathetic towards his cause, the ends don’t always justify the means.
12 Rounds 2: Reloaded was more enjoyable than the original, theatrical release. Expect to see Orton in more feature films as crossover appeal from the in ring viper to action hero will be just as smooth as Dwayne Johnson’s. The Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack drop today June 4, 2013 find it at your local retail stores.
