Available on for mobile devices from Touch Dimension, Wizards and Wagons tests your economic skills by being one of the most engaging item shop sim game I have played so far. Instead of waiting for customers to come to you, players must travel from town to town making trades, protect their assets, and learn the basics of supply and demand.
Years before the current storyline of Wizards and Wagons, the main character was hailed as the greatest hero after defeating the demon lord. Unfortunately, riches don’t last and the hero becomes broke, unemployed, and homeless. You meet a wizard that gives you a wagon and with that wagon, you set off on a journey to reclaim glory and success.
Players will take their wagon from town to town to find cheap goods, find where to sell them for more, and make a profit. The idea is simple and straightforward. Players have to be business-savvy about which items to buy, sell, and if it’s worth their time focusing on. What makes this game unique compared to other item shop games is the traveling component. Players will encounter bandits and monsters that will attempt to steal and destroy the wagon. Players can customize their wagon with weapons to protect themselves from these villains, but have to also save room for their assets. It is all about balance in Wizards and Wagons.
I will admit that economic games are not my preference, but I enjoyed Wizards and Wagons. With a unique story line that questions what happens after defeating the final boss, Wizards and Wagons provides a fresh change to item shop games while teaching players the basics of managing money. While I have already made mistakes in the game, the losses and setbacks are not to crazy to recover from. The game is balanced well enough so that you can learn from your mistakes and still make your fortune.
Wizards and Wagons is well worth the price of $4.99 and is available for iOS at the App Store. Download it here and help the here reclaim his former glory.
