For those who have traversed the pages of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, one particular drink may stand out. The Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a drink invented by the ex-president of the Universe, Zaphod Beeblebrox, and it certainly stands up to his antics. Douglas Adams’ book describes the drink as akin to “having your brains smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped around a gold brick.”
While you should never drink more than two Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters, it is entirely possible for you to get your fix in another way. Lollyphile, a company known for it’s rather odd combinations of lollypops, has a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster ready to take you away. Lollyphille has been in the news previously for their brand of breast milk flavored lollypops (no breast milk actually involved) and a line devoted to the flavors of beer and wine. The nerd in me had to try out the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
With a sweet fruity flavor, the lollipop also does its best to add a flavor of gin, without actually tasting like gin whatsoever. The lollipop is blue in color, and boy does it stain your tongue and your teeth blue. Do not eat one of these before heading to a job interview, but it might help your latest cosplay if you need a blue mouth.
The shipping time took about a week and a half, but you can’t blame Lollyphile for this; they are after all located in Arkansas. Their customer service is quick with responses and the flavor was fantastic.
While your brains won’t be smashed in by this lollypop, your mind might be blown with how excited people get when you offer them one of these Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters.
