It’s no secret that some Ted 2 scenes are being filmed at a comic convention. Filming is actually taking place at New York Comic Con this weekend for the sequel to the Mark Wahlberg starring 2012 film, even if IGN says otherwise. The studio has acquired permits to film outside of Javits Center this weekend, but apparently not inside the actual convention.
There’s no word on whether the main cast will be involved in this location shoot, but I’m pretty sure they will be involved here. I happened by the Fox Studios back lot this afternoon, and stumbled upon a sound stage recreation of the convention interiors. I asked what film these sets were built for, and was told by a stage hand that they are in fact for Ted 2. They aren’t great pictures, and the sets are incomplete, but they clearly have NYCC signage, so now we know where that filming will be taking place. Click the pics to see them larger.
Ted 2 is to be released on June 26, 2015, by Universal Pictures.
