‘Love Without Borders- For Refugees In Need’ founder/humanitarian Kayra Martinez says, “I am pleased to announce we will be going to Long Beach, California in May, to share the stories, art creations, and projects that we’re creating in Greece for the refugees that have been there for over a year. We will discuss the situation, look at photos/art and talk about ways we can help support the refugees in Greece.”
As an American citizen, working in Germany for the last 16 years, Martinez’s life has been a dream come true. She always wanted a way to give back in some small way. Having volunteered for 5 years for the CAUSE Foundation helping flight attendants, and in the last one and a half years in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia and Croatia, Martinez has seen first-hand that there has been a huge need for aid and assistance.
With thousands of refugees fleeing from Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, volunteer groups have been setting up to provide basic items to get the refugees through this difficult time. Many grass-roots efforts such as ‘Love Without Borders- For Refugees In Need’ have started up to help support where other big non-governmental organizations cannot. These grassroots organizations have been instrumental in helping to bring aid, start schools, art classes and provide one on one assistance to those in need.
