Follow the legend of the Sanada Clan from their heroic rise and tragic fall in the historically inspired game Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada
I have always been a huge fan of Asian Warriors. The way they’re portrayed, even in American history books, just made it seem more fulfilling than American wars. American history is full of war, of people who fought because they had to, and overcame gross odds for a righteous fight. Which in its own right is a fantastic representation and a honorable one. But aside from high ranking officers and stuff, most of it is portrayed rather unceremoniously until a movie is bad about it. Samurais are painted as noble fighters whose lives are dedicated loyalty and battle. That’s it. They do not accept anything but victory, opting to commit ritual suicide than bear the humiliation of defeat. However, Asian warriors tend to get a chapter at most, so not much other than a cool description is ever given.
Samurai Warriors is a long-running hit series of hack-slash games based on these noble warriors. Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada will be focused on the Sanada Clan who actually exist in history. Here’s a brief overview:
The tale of the Sanada Clan begins with patriarch Masayuki Sanada, a much-requested character who joins the SAMURAI WARRIORS series for the first time. The player follows Masayuki’s first battle, trailing the clan’s meteoric rise from lowly vassals to powerful lords which led to the birth of the fan-favorite samurai, Yukimura Sanada. Continuing the clan’s legacy, players will then journey from boyhood as the legendary warrior, following his footsteps as Yukimura rises to the title of “The Crimson Demon of War.” Players will also experience the epic tale of his father’s reign and his finest battles, up to his valiant final stand at the Siege of Osaka.
