Urban Armor Gear (UAG) offers maximum protection without the unnecessary bulk – UAG Review
Cell phones are essentially a necessity. I don’t know many people who don’t do the 3-pat before they leave the house; phone, wallet, keys. There a lot of people who are lost without their phones, which is why there are so many different ways to protect them. Cell phone cases are the most popular way to go, and choosing a cell phone case is kind of the coolest way to customize and personalize your phone. However, there usually seems to be a direct relationship with protection, and bulk; the more protection the case offers, the bulkier it is. I don’t have any actual hard data, but most people tend to like the protection, but not the bulk. Well, luckily there Urban Armor Gear (UAG) has us covered.
I spoke about UAG previously, and how extreme the protection is. They drop products from space to show off the protection. Now, I’m going to talk specifically about their case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in this UAG Review. In short, the case is awesome. It has a thin profile that snugly wraps the phone and does not add much bulk. The bulk is especially important to me because I do a lot of my shooting with my phone because it’s much more convenient to carry my phone than it is to carry my camera and lenses. I have multiple different rigs that I use with my phone to get better shots, and most of them are based on the phone’s native size. Otterboxes never fit, UAG does! Another huge plus is that it also fits into the leg pocket of my carpenter jeans. Having a phablet, it’s always a gamble if the phone will fit into the pocket, add a case it’s pretty much a guarantee that it won’t. UAG does the impossible and fits the in leg pocket without any difficulties! My favorite part is the easy installation and access. The case pops right on and doesn’t have numerous bumper plugs you have to open and close everytime you want to charge your phone. It’s also compatible with inductive charging, so you may never have to connect a wire to it anyway.
The UAG Case comes in multiple colors and has a really sleek design. It has ridges that give it texture, and also the honeycomb pattern I believe provides extra stability. I am basing it off the different science projects I made to protect dropped objects. Honeycombs are always one of the most stable and protective shapes. I threw my phone across the room into the couch and dropped it on its corners and everything looks as good as new. The only downside to the case is that it does not with a protective side for the touch screen, which is kind of the most valuable and vulnerable part. I was afraid to do a full on drop because I didn’t want a stray bounce to cause it to land on the screen. The lipped design of the edges do extend past the screen ever so slightly, but I think a bad angle or even a slightly uneven surface can overcome any protection the slight lip would provide. Personally, I have a tempered glass cover on my phone that protects it, and I think the combination would protect it from any accidental damage I could cause.
The Urban Armor Gear Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Cell Phone Case is an amazing protective case that easily surpasses many of the other popular brands by not only providing equivalent protection while providing significantly less bulk. The easy installation and access are far superior to other popular cases and it doesn’t need you to plug and unplug rubber stoppers to connect your wires. Lastly, the thin profile allows you to use your phone with all of your accessories without having to take off the case. As a person who uses their phone for multiple uses, this is an especially important function to have. Despite not having a screen protector, the UAG Cell Phone case provides amazing protection without the cost of versatility and weight. I give my UAG Review a 5/5
