Oh, snap! We’re just a little over a month away from highly anticipated follow up to Avengers: Infinity War with Avengers: Endgame. As Captain Marvel is currently in theaters smashing box office records and generating rivers of man-baby tears, directors Joe and Anthony Russo are putting the finishing touches are their superhero epic and today brings us a new trailer for Avengers: Endgame.
This look at Endgame doesn’t feature too many new details for fans to parse over, as so much of the trailer consists of a lot of flashbacks from previous movies in the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe. The intent of this marketing is simple: You’ve been with these heroes through so many adventures you simply can’t miss the big finale. While Marvel is reminding you of the past they’re not giving anything but the smallest glimpse at what the future will hold. It’s a testament to just how much power Marvel has in the world of pop culture that the trailer for their biggest movie yet can be so devoid of specifics and lengthy glimpses. And it’s important to note that what little glimpses are in this trailer could very well not make it into the final film, as that’s something Marvel has done in the past to throw detail-oriented fans of the scent of their trail.
Returning to battle Josh Brolin‘s Thanos for a second time are Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Danai Guria, Karen Gillan, and Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Racoon.
The epic conclusion of the Avengers saga will land in theaters when Avengers: Endgame opens on April 26, 2019.
The official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
