Bruce Wayne has a made sure that his proteges were more emotionally stable (except for Jason Todd) than he ever was and Dick Grayson is the most sensitive of them all.
After taking the advice of the Pre-52 Superman to start a new life in the city of Bludhaven, Nightwing moves out of Gotham City to start a new. What he doesn’t realize is that his adopted city is a kind of a refuge for reformed criminals from his hometown looking to start over as well.
One of those reformed bad guys is implied third-wave feminist Shawn Tsang aka The Defacer. A former side-kick to Pigeon, who wanted to rewrite Gotham’s history by erasing all men from contributing to the growth of the city.
Now as Gorilla Grimm is accused of a crime he might not have committed, it is up to Nightwing and these, “Run-Offs” to solve the crime and figure out who is truly behind this…you’ll find out on the final splash page.
Seeley has been able to capture everything we have loved about Nightwing over the years, the one-liners, the smart-ass comments and all the emotions that we have expected from his internal monologues.
The Rebirth Nightwing is exactly what we want from this character and no matter how much you try to escape your destiny, it Nightwing is proof that you can’t run from it.
