Lion Fight 50 Full Results

GameStop, Inc.

November 3, 2018 – Los Angeles – Lion Fight Promotions presents Lion Fight 50 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in front of the Olympic Flame.

Tonight’s fight card features some of the best Nak Muay in the world. Here are tonight’s fight results as follow:

Super Featherweight (130 lbs) – Zach Ungureit (0-1) vs. Anthony Warken (1-1)

Round One – There is no feeling out period in this one, Warken comes out swinging leading with an outside leg kick and a jab. Ungureit eats left cross and it doesn’t even phase him, but Warken split the uprights and that definitely stopped the clock for a brief moment. Ungureit lacks head movement but has some good counter strikes. Warken is dancing around the ring, slowing the pace to regroup setting up his attack with a jab then a spinning back elbow. With 10 seconds left Warken lands a flying knee nearly knocking him out! He gets the standing 8-count at the end of the round.

Round Two – Ungureit had his bell rung in the last round and he hasn’t fully regrouped for this one. Warken needs to control himself and not get too excited if he wants to score the knock out. Warken lands a left hook but Ungureit is able to answer with an elbow. Both men drive in with elbows ending up in a clinch against the ropes.

Round Three – It is Ungureit who is on the attack, although Warken’s counter attack has turned his face red from the bruising causing his left cheek to swell. Ungureit is able to dump Warken from the clinch but they are quickly back to their feet as Warken is quickly driven back into a neutral corner and swept to the canvas as the round comes to a close.

Round Four – Warken appears to be up the score cards two rounds to one, but both men are fighting as if they need to finish this fight. The two fighters exchange strikes in the center of the ring as the fans are in awe of the heart these two men are displaying. Ungureit has been chasing after the mostly illusive Warken the majority of this round.

Round Five – Warken throws a teep kick that his caught allowing Ungureit to drive him back and to the ground in his own corner. Ungureit throws Warken to the ground again, this time from the clinch. Those throws can change the course of this fight. Warken has turned his opponent’s inner left thigh lobster red from all those kicks he’s landed throughout this fight. This one goes to the judges as they hug it out after the bell.

Your winner by unanimous decision Anthony Warken!

Welterweight (145 lbs) Travis Petralba (1-0) vs. Bounthong Syvanthong (1-2)

Round One – Petralba is setting up this shots but Syvanthong has some great head movement allowing him to avoid two-thirds of all the strikes coming at him. Petralba catches a kick and sweeps Syvanthong to the ground, not once but twice! Petralba throws an inside leg kick forcing Syvanthong to take a knee and dumps him from the clinch later in the round just before the bell sounds.

Round Two – The fighters touch’em up and before Petralba lands a couple of jabs that gets the crowds attention. Syvanthong lands a right hook in the corner but Petralba lands a left hook that stuns his opponent, unfortunately, he didn’t follow through fast enough to ring Syvanthong’s bell even more. Petralba comes in landing several knees from the clinch that followed a one-two combination that continued to stun Syvanthong. This round comes to an end after Petralba lands three consecutive body kicks.

Round Three – The pace has slowed a tad as they exchange leg kicks before both fighters throw haymakers. Petralba throws a front kick but trips, the two end up in the clinch against the ropes allowing Petralba to throw a couple of knees before the referee breaks them up. Petralba answers Syvanthong’s two strikes with a barrage of hands and feet that didn’t make the scoring of this round easy.

Round Four – Syvanthong is finally waking up in this round as he’s landing more strikes than the previous three rounds coming into the corner with a flying elbow. Petralba is answering back with a few teep kicks and knees of his own, the only problem is he’s chasing after Syvanthong, which will tire him out.

Round Five – Every strike from these two has  become a calculated strike, no energy can be wasted as both men are looking for a decisive finish. Petralba has doubled up on his striking, like a fire has been ignited in him that was missing in the previous round. This one looks like it is going to the judges.

Your winner by split decision Travis Petralba!

Super Welterweight (150 lbs) Chris Mauceri (7-3) vs. Josh Aragon (13-4)

Round One – Aragon is covered in petroleum jelly before the fight has even begun but now the two are exchanging kicks within the center of the ring and knees from the clinch before Mauceri takes him down from the tie-up. These two are exchanging knees from the clinch and are throwing kick for kick before the round came to an end.

Round Two – Mauceri charges in with a teep that is caught but Aragon doesn’t finish the throw. The majority of the scoring continues to come from the clinch but at the break Aragon throws a spinning back elbow, Mauceri again dumps Aragon from the clinch. The two start unloading on each other at the end of this round.

Round Three – Mauceri again leads with a teep that’s answered by Aragon and before clinching yet again lands an elbow strike. Aragon’s family jewels are grazed and a quick pause to readjust his cup. The two continue to dance around the ring and exchange knees from the clinch with every once in awhile exchanging kicks and punches before returning to the clinch.

Round Four – The two continue to chase each other around the ring, exchange a few strikes before ending up in the clinch like the previous rounds.

Round Five – The crowd is clearly behind Aragon, but Mauceri isn’t giving an inch. The two exchange heavy knee strikes from the clinch and when they allow themselves, to let their hands and feet fly.

Your winner by unanimous decision Josh Aragon!

North American Lightweight Title (135 lbs) Joshua Scales (3-0) vs. Jordan Harris (4-0)

Round One – To quote Bas Rutten, “Someone’s O has got to go!” Scales leads with a teep but Harris catches the second kick driving him back clear across the ring. These two want to desperately be the first Lion Fight North American Champion and each one wants a definitive first round finish. Harris catches a teep kick, drives Scales to the ground who spins out in hopes to gain the sweep points. A mouse is forming under Scales right eye, which could cause problems for him in the later rounds.

Round Two – The majority of the crowd is cheering for Harris, which could be a distraction. Harris is chasing after Scales and landing some hard knees and kicks, but that could tire him out for later rounds if he’s not careful. A second mouse is forming under Scales’ left eye, that could effect the judges scoring when it comes to damage from significant strikes. Harris rushes in with an elbow then a one-two combination. Scales is slowing the page to find his footing. He is the longer fighter and needs to fight from a distance.

Round Three – Harris has an answer for everyone of Scales’ strikes but that knee to his twins took the wind out of Scales, which results in a warning. Scales gets kicked in the crotch this time and the referee takes away a point from Harris for the second groin strike. Scales was starting to wake up until he started paying more attention to the referee than his opponent. That could have cost him dearly.

Round Four – Scales is waking up in these later rounds, but will it be enough to win the judges over? The two exchange knees from the clinch and Harris throws Scales out the ring between the third and fourth ropes! The doctors are checking on him before he makes his way back into the ring. Harris is becoming more aggressive after that highlight reel moment and Scales is far more focused. Scales flies in with a knee, then transitions to an elbow but Harris sidesteps both to land a punch to close out the round.

Round Five – This is the go home moment, winner takes all as the next three minutes will determine the first ever Lion Fight North American Lightweight Champion! Will that point deduction be enough to tip the scales in Scales favor or has Harris done enough to definitively won the title? Only a knock out could truly answer that question. Scales again looks at the judges this time for not calling the third groin kick that that grazed the baby maker. Harris splits the uprights for a fourth time and this time it’s called. The referee warns Harris and the fight continues. This fight should clearly result in an automatic rematch because of the crotch kick controversy. This fight ends in the center of the ring with both fighters hugging it out after the bell.

Your winner by split decision and first ever Lion Fight North American Lightweight Champion, Jordan Harris!

Main Event – World Super Middleweight Title (167 lbs) Regian Eersel (51-4) vs. Joakim Hagg (22-12)

Round One – This round is definitely a tradition feeling out period like most Thai Boxing fightings. I don’t blame them for being more calculated as this one is for the Lion Fight World Super Middleweight Championship! The corners are giving their instructions in Dutch and Swedish, giving tonight’s main event an even more international feel.

Round Two – Eersel is the aggressor this round as his offense has been a consistent serving of combinations beginning with body shots, knees and kicks allowing him to transition to head shots more easily. For each kick or punch Hagg lands, Eersel has two more in answering back.

Round Three – Eersel comes out with some low leg kicks and it’s Hagg who’s answering back this round! Eersel is turning the tide but at this point round three can go either way. A cut has opened up under Hagg’s right eye, which will eventually turn into a bull’s eye for Eersel. Eersel finishes this round strong and could easily sway the judging with that strong finish.

Round Four – Hagg seems to be hesitating with his strikes this round as for everything he throws Eersel has three more knees, kicks or punches as his answer. Hagg accidentally kicks Eersel in the crotch as Eersel slips out of the corner, which results in a warning for the Swede.

Round Five – This one will declare the new Lion Fight World Super Middleweight Champion! The fighters touch’em up and they begin the round with exchanging low kicks that quickly transition to hands flying by both men. Hagg is starting to find his groove but that would only help him if this was a ten round fight. Eersel is looking for a knock out as he comes in with a flying knee and has him on the ropes as the referee waves this one off because Hagg looked like he was out on his feet!

Your winner by TKO and new Lion Fight Super Middleweight Champion, Regain Eersel!
