“Still angry.” And with those two words Krysten Ritter has perfectly captured the attitude that Jessica Jones will be taking with her in the season season of Marvel’s hit Netflix show. Whereas most of the Marvel shows on Netflix have been of the hit or miss variety, Jessica Jones still stands as the high water mark of that dark corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that exists on the streaming giant. After teaming up with Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron First for The Defenders, the hard drinking and abrasive private eye returns to her own little corner of the interconnected world ready to confront her demons head on.
This latest teaser for Jessica Jones doesn’t shed much light on what’s in store for our hero in then next season, and I’d prefer to keep it that way. Whatever or whomever is lurking in the shadows and terrorizing the innocent denizens of New York will have to face some hell when the superpowered investigator is on their trail.
Returning for the second season of Jessica Jones are Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Eka Darville and they’re joined by new cast members Janet McTeer and J.R. Ramirez. Melissa Rosenberg stays on Jessica Jones as the series’ showrunner. No directing credits for episodes have been made available as of yet. Two of pop cultures most dominate forces will continue their fruitful collaboration when Marvel and Netflix debut Season 2 of Jessica Jones on March 8, 2018, which also just happens to be International Women’s Day.
