By far, one of the best Elseworld stories DC Comics has ever put out are the Injustice series based on the video games of the same name. Injustice 2 fills in gaps between the original Injustice game and it’s sequel of the same name where Brainiac will be the next big baddy along with Superman.
Batman in this installment has done something we never thought possible and that is pick up a gun…two guns…machine guns to be exact. The Dark Knight had sworn off ever using the weapon (a few years after his initial run in 1939) but some how, the big bad bat has picked up a few, only thing is, is this version with the glowing red eyes really Bruce Wayne or at least our Bruce Wayne? That’s a mystery left unanswered in issue 2. However, we do get to see Green Arrow from the alternate reality come into this world along with Black Canary to team up with Batman to save the world as they hope the artificial red sunlight keeps Superman de-powered (it’s a word they use in comics, sue me).
Taylor tells a Justice League story we have been eager for and if this is the way Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice played out in theaters….WOW.
Although the art of team is fantastic Redondo, Albarran and Lokus, their visual storytelling is a bit too tame for something so violent. I love all their work, but if it was a little more gritty for Injustice 2 then it definitely would have gotten a higher score.

The Verdict
Injustice 2 #2 is Badassery beyond compare!
