The nuclear-powered duo blasts his way- their way?- into the fray in the new Injustice 2 Firestorm Trailer
I was first introduced to Firestorm back on the Super Friends. I didn’t understand why he wasn’t a more popular character. In the episode, I think it was Superman flying around with Green Lantern and they were attacked by yellow light that would disable Green Lantern. Then Green Lantern transformed into Firestorm then took names and put the bad guys in their place. It didn’t make sense how someone so powerful wasn’t more popular. Now it seems like he’s getting his dues. Firestorm is on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and now he’s in Injustice 2.
Injustice 2 Firestorm seems to be a well-balanced character in terms of melee and direct attacks. He doesn’t seem to have very fast movement capabilities unless it is an attack, in which case he can seemingly reach anywhere on screen. His special kind of looks like the process used to fuse his two personalities, but instead of people he crashes two nuclear energy orbs onto his opponent. It’s a cool special, but compared to like Harley Quinn and Deadshot’s specials it is presented kind of blandly. It still doesn’t seem as dull as Dr. Fate’s though.
Injustice 2 keeps growing the roster and keeps us on our toes with these weekly updates. If the trend holds up, we can look forward to another story based trailer next week.
In development by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Injustice 2 features a massive roster of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and allows players to build and power up the ultimate version of their favorite DC characters. The game will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16, 2017.
