What was your first Cosplay Experience?
My first cosplay experience was in the streets of Downtown Tacoma cosplaying as Catwoman for a photo shoot from the popular DC Comics series Batman. My close friend/photographer Jewelz Photography; that I’ve known since middle school attended to the photo shoot along with a very skilled photographer that she referred me to and met for the first time named Zeze Photography. He impressed me with his exquisite, detailed, mind-blowing photography expertise and shown very professional directing on my poses during the shoot being kind patience, optimistic spirit and display the utmost encouragement to me. Both of my photographers made cosplay very enjoyable and fun for me during this photo shoot and with the epic feeling n drive of putting on a costume as I roam in Downtown Tacoma streets looking and acting as Catwoman; I was very nervous in the beginning but as the photo shoot went on with so much succession; it turned out to be an unbelievably amazing experience.
How long have you been Cosplaying?
I’ve been cosplay for only three years with a side of modeling here and there to help network and promote myself more for others to see how I look beyond the costumes n the makeup but to see myself in a different perspective.
What is your favorite cosplay you have worn/created?
I actually don’t have a favorite cosplay. I believe every cosplay I’ve done thus far has all been my favorites because all the hard work of putting pieces together and the innovation of the execute touch in them. I want to perfected it in my own way to where I can make it fun n enjoyable with not only myself to resemble the character but to perform and show others to have a fun time and not to be afraid of cosplaying for themselves.
If you had unlimited resources, what Cosplay would you create?
If I were to have limited sources I would like to create some armored cosplays. In the future, I do have plans to create Akasha from Queen of The Damned cosplay or create armor look to my Batman cosplays as well. It will definitely be a lot of hard work and require a big amount of materials but I have confidence in myself to make it happen.
What advice would you offer others trying to break into Cosplay?
My advice that I would offer to others to trying to break into cosplay is finding the character that you wish to become and don’t let others look at you and judge you for something that you love to do. Also, I can say one of the best part of all with cosplay is going to the conventions meeting new cosplayers, to be inspired with new ideas, and just have a good time. Cosplay has impacted me in my life to become a strong, inspiring individual and being able to share my own experience with others who wish to try it I will encourage them every step of the way with my utmost inspiring, optimistic view.
