What was your first Cosplay Experience?
The first time i made contact with cosplayers was at Iberanime OPO 2012. At that time I didnt knew much about cosplay, so it was all pretty much new to me. After that convention I felt the necessity to try out what would be one of the best things in the world, cosplay. In the next year, i decide, along with my cousin, to try, and do cosplay so at Iberanime OPO 2013 I cosplayed Sanji from One Piece! It was really awesome, and super fun! After that i found out about a lot of other conventions in my country and its been a lot of fun since then. Its great when you have nice feedback about your costumes from people. By the way, the best thing about cosplay and conventions, is that we have the opportunity to meet tons of people, lots of cosplayers, that can help us, teaching us techniques, to improve. My first cosplay experience, as a cosplayer, was awesome, I loved it and I have been cosplaying since then.
How long have you been Cosplaying?
As i said before, I have been cosplaying since 2013, so its been 4 years now. In the beginning, I was cosplaying just for the fun of being in conventions with a suit, but about 2 years ago I decided to take it more seriously, and I began to improve my cosplay skills and photos.
What is your favorite cosplay you have worn/created?
Well, this is a hard question! I love all my costumes, but right now I guess Hercules is my favorite. The final product came out better than i tought it would be, and it was awesome! I created it so I could worn it at comiccon portugal 2015. Im waiting for a better weather so i can make a photo shoot outside.
If you had unlimited resources, what Cosplay would you create?
If i had unlimited resources, it would mean bigger, and much, MUCH better cosplays. In the end If we want a really cool cosplay we need tons of materials. In my country most of them are really expensive, and that doesn’t make the cosplay impossible to do, but in the end it wont be as awesome. With unlimited resources i would improve my armour and weapons skills, because we need some tries until we get things right, and that means wasting more money in materials. I love elder scrolls series so i would try to do some of the armors. One more thing, big weapons are amazing so i would try bigger ones like cloud’s sword, guts dragon slayer and more.
What advice would you offer others trying to break into Cosplay?
Just do what you like, what makes you happy. If the character you like have what appears to be an impossible costume, don’t give up and do your best, in the end you will like the result, and if it’s not perfect, remember that perfection comes with work and dedication, and the more you do the more you will improve. The most important thing in cosplay is to have fun, so go for it :).
