Divide by Sheep is a puzzle platform releasing July 2nd, 2015 from game publisher tinyBuild. The game’s story is cute and a bit obscure, but basically revolves around Death being lonely so he floods the world so there will be souls to be friends with him. Now that I’ve typed it out I realize I it doesn’t come off as cute, but watch the trailer and you’ll see what I mean. The main point of the game is to get the exact amount of sheep to the raft, and let the rest drown. The joke of the game happens after a few levels in and you literally start dividing sheep by cutting them into pieces. It’s an adorable little mess, that definitely contrasts the cute graphics the game presents you with.
Game play is simple, you swipe (or drag) a group of sheep to get them to jump to one platform to the next until they get to the raft. The platforms have different capacities and traps and you can either lose and gain sheep along the way. The point is to match the number of sheep asked per raft. There are three rafts per level, and the combinations are endless.
The graphics are simple but very well crafted. It looks like a Nick Jr. Cartoon that eventually gets bloody. The game is enjoyable and addicting, and guarantees hours of head scratching in order to get a perfect score. If you like puzzles or math, this game is definitely for you. I rate Divide By Sheep 7/10.
