Fresh off a stint reprising his role of Howard Stark on Marvel’s Agent Carter, THR is reporting that Dominic Cooper has the lead role in AMC’s adaptation of the cult favorite yet controversial Vertigo comic series Preacher. THR reports that he will be portraying Jesse Custer, a preacher and former outlaw who has lost his faith, but gained some miraculous powers. Cooper joins fellow cast members Ruth Negga as Tulip, Jesse’s girlfrined; Lucy Griffiths as Emily Woodrow, Jesse’s loyal right hand; Joseph Gilgun as hard drinking Irish vampire Cassidy; and Ian Colletti as Eugene Root (aka Arseface).
Executive producer Seth Rogen announced the casting via Twitter.
