Doctor Who 9th Doctor #11
Story By: Cavan Scott
Art By: Cris Bolson
Release Date: March 29th
The Ninth Doctor is in the 53rd century this time around. Rose, his companion is trying to help him escape from prison, to quote rose, its an “Arkham Asylum” in space. Navigating the doctors, nurses, guards, and treated prisoners is a bit troublesome. I feel like I’m selling this story short, when its by far one of the most interesting Doctor Who comics that I’ve come across. Doctor Who 9th Doctor #11 deserves to be in your pull list this week.
I’ve read Cavan Scott before and he’s always penning down great stories. My eyebrows lift when I see his name next to the title. Cavan has really raised the bar in Doctor Who 9th Doctor #11. This new story arc called “Sin Eaters” captured my imagination. He took the Time Lord into uncharted waters and doing so, his readers as well.
Rose acts as the vessel for the reader. She’s our guide who knows just as much as we do about whats going on this book. But the center piece is the Ninth Doctor of course. He’s in a lot of trouble and I suspect nothing like this has happened to him before. I say that as a Doctor Who novice, if I missed an episode of all the 827 episodes, please correct me. We get a special glimpse into the inner makings of the beloved doctor.
Doctor Who 9th Doctor #11 wouldn’t be as great as it was without Cris Bolson. There’s one particular panel that is twisted and shocking, but so incredibly rad. Bolson certainly has a way of bringing out some of the more sinister elements I don’t normally see in Doctor Who books.
Doctor Who 9th Doctor #11 is a comic book for people who might not be fans already. Or if your looking to jump into this franchise, this is your golden opportunity. With all that said, I highly recommend this book.
