GGTR Game Series Power Banks ensure you have the power, and style, to catch them all – Dexcharge Power Bank Review
Let’s face it, phone batteries never last long enough. It doesn’t matter the brand, it doesn’t matter the model, your phone will die when you need it most unless you have a power bank. It’s no longer a question of if you need a power bank, but which one will you get. So, I’m here to make a suggestion. Get the GGTR Gamer Series Dexcharge Power Bank! Or any power bank in the GGTR Gamer Series Power Banks really. There are countless options out there for power banks, and in general, if it charges your phone, it’s doing its job. However, there is doing the job, and excelling at it, and the Dexcharge Power Bank excels at it.
First and foremost, the Dexcharge (and any in the Gamer Series line), functions with efficiency. It has Quick Charge 3.0, which allows it to fast charge your device and greatly reduce the time you need to be connected to it. More importantly, the fast charge allows you to charge faster than you consume. In most cases this isn’t a big deal, but when you’re in a heated Mario Kart battle on the Switch, and you’re at low battery with 2 laps to go on Rainbow Road, you need assurance that your power bank can keep you running while you leave a trailer of bananas on that tight turn and effectively end your friendships. The Dexcharger has you covered.
Speaking of efficiency, the Dexcharge Power Bank has multiple inputs and outputs. While most devices are going to USB-C, we’re still in that awkward transition period where there are still a lot of micro-USB and lightning cables. The Dexcharge has both micro-USB and USB-C inputs to charge it, preventing you from that awkward moment of having to switch cables from your old device to your new device or having to unplug your friend’s device. If you are stuck with a lightning cable, you’re kind of SOL and should question the poor decisions you’ve made in your life. The dual outputs are a similar saving grace, allowing you to charge two devices at a time. You’ll be able to charge your phone and your Switch at the same time or charge yours and your friend’s device without having that infuriating moment of them asking you, “What percent you at?” as they use your charger. And the Dexcharge Power Bank 10000mAh capacity ensures the ability to fully charge your devices, effectively doubling their single charge battery life, depending on their capacity and burn rate, etc.
The final important point -I say important because there are things like a 1-year warranty and 1000 cycle rated use that are factors but don’t affect most people’s decisions- it looks really cool. The Dexcharge Power Bank looks like a Pokedex. I know it plays into the nostalgia factor for me, but I think it’s a fitting look for such an accessory. It comes with stickers to customize it even more, but I think the innate design is awesome as is. Its appearance is definitely one of its biggest draws. I think it’s a great chance to dive into your fandom in an otherwise mundane device.
The Dexcharge Power Bank, and the rest of the Gamer Series line, run $39.99 each. They all share the same specs but are designed differently. Each are about the size of a phablet which is pretty much typical for power banks of this capacity. Price is the Dexcharge’s biggest folly. There are numerous power banks with similar specs that run quite a bit cheaper. While none seem to outshine it in appearance, a good number boasts smaller devices or built-in wires to charge the devices. Then there are higher capacity devices for cheaper prices as well. There are no universally agreed upon “name brand” power banks, so it’s not like you’re getting an extremely reputable brand at a cheaper price. But you can easily get a comparable or higher capacity device at a noticeably cheaper price. I have an Aukey 20000 mAh, that I use at red carpet live streams, that was about $10 cheaper.
The Dexcharge Power Bank is a phenomenal power bank that performs its core functions excellently. It’s high capacity and fast charge ability keeps you playing instead of charging. It also gives you options in both the charging of the device and of other devices, which is a subtle detail you don’t realize is a big deal until you realize how bad it is to not have it. It’s about 7 steps short of indoor plumbing. And I stand resolute about how cool it looks. However, I can’t deny it has a higher price point compared to numerous similar spec devices or even higher-capacity models that cost less. But if you are looking for a great power bank, with a high-capacity, can charge multiple devices, and you’re really into having stylish gear, the Dexcharge Power Bank is easily the coolest looking power bank to get the job done. My Dexcharge Power Bank review gets a 4/5.
