Call me crazy, but I’m still fairly skeptical about this upcoming Deadpool sequel. The first film, which undoubtedly a massive hit, left me rather cold with its over reliance on pop culture references and profanity stripped of wit. Some of the action was cool, though. My interest raised a bit when David Leitch, co-director of John Wick and director Atomic Blonde, took over the still untitled sequel. The sequel got a bit more interesting when it was announced that legendary comic character Cable would be played by Josh Brolin, the grizzled acting vet exchanging verbal barbs with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool. The studio was obviously confident the direction that Leitch was taking the sequel when they announced that Untitled Deadpool Sequel (that’s what’s it’s still being referred to) would be coming out weeks earlier than originally planned, putting the Merc with a Mouth almost head-to-head at the box office against Solo: A Star Wars Story. Pretty ballsy move from that foul-mouthed hero.
20th Century Fox is ramping up the promotional machine for Untitled Deadpool Sequel with teaser images and the character recently live tweeting the Super Bowl. Today brings us our first look at Cable in action in the Untitled Deadpool Sequel and it’s looking pretty, pretty, pretty good. This teaser for the Untitled Deadpool Sequel due out on May 18, 2018 teases plenty of action and plenty of profanity, with this early glimpse suggesting that the action will be much more captivating than the profanity. Nonetheless, this is a solid teaser.
