A couple of weeks ago the internet went abuzz when rumors circulated that the running time for Logan had been extended by three minutes, all of which occurred after the film had been screened for critics. Could it be a post-credits scene? Logan director James Mangold was quick to dissuade those rumors. What about those rumors that Deadpool would appearing in Logan? Not quite. Now we know, as reported the other day, it was for a new teaser for Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds‘ return as the Merc with a Mouth. The final question that was left to be answered was whether or not the Deadpool 2 teaser would find itself online in any official capacity, and now we have an answer: Yes.
The teaser, entitled “No Good Deed,” gleefully riffs upon Superman, with Deadpool entering a phone booth to John Williams‘ iconic score. However, there are no heroic from the antihero as his attempts to change result in the death of an innocent man, which is supposed to be comical somehow. Anyways, the teaser also features a Stan Lee cameo because he appears in anything Marvel related, even if had nothing to do with the character. Personally, I think this teaser is a bit too long for what they have but that isn’t going to dissuade the enthusiasm of any Deadheads out there.
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch, co-director of John Wick, and has not officially been slated with a release date, though many suspect it’s March 2nd, 2018. After the smash hit of the first Deadpool, anticipation is high for the wise-cracking superhero to return dropping F-bombs and pop culture references amidst an array of gleeful ultraviolence.
