Once David Tennant stopped being the Tenth Doctor, he went bad. First, he was the nefarious Kilgrave on Jessica Jones, completely ruthless in abusing his powers of persuasion for evil. Now, Tennant is the eponymous Bad Samaritan in Dean Devlin‘s upcoming thriller. Devlin is best known as a writer and producer behind such ’90s blockbusters as Stargate, Universal Soldier, and Independence Day. After making his feature film debut as a director with the wildly absurd Geostorm, Devlin steps behind the camera for a lean, mean thriller based on the screenplay by Brandon Boyce.
Robert Sheehan stars as Sean, a young man living in Portland, Oregon, who makes an illicit living as a petty thief with his friend Derek (Carlito Olivero). But sometimes rummaging through the belongings of strangers can bring forth unspeakable horrors, as Sean discovers when attempting burglarize the home belonging to Cale Erendreich (Tennant). Instead of seeking justice through typical means, Cale then begins to terrorize his would-be burglars, toying with them like a cat does a mouse.
Things will get ugly in the Great Northwest when Electric Entertainment unleashes Bad Samaritan into theaters on March 30, 2018.
